Our Mission

Our Vision…

Esther House, a non-profit organization based in Burkesville, Kentucky, was founded in 2007 by Bill and Kelly Guffey.

The vision began as a place where women could come and bring their children to escape the horror of domestic violence. What they could not have known was that God’s plan for Esther House would reach far beyond the walls of domestic violence and touch the lives of people struggling with many different life controlling issues. They also had no idea that the organization would not only be reaching out to women but also to men through various programs that would be implemented through Esther House.

Our Primary Purpose…

The most important and life changing thing we do at Esther House is show people the unconditional love and compassion of Christ. By creating a “safe environment” where masks can come off, people can be real and lives are being changed. When people realize that God loves them with an infinite, unconditional, and unchanging love, their security is unshakable; their confidence is rock solid; and their self-esteem cannot be threatened because it is based on the way God values and esteems them.

When people understand that they hold value in the eyes of their Creator, regardless of past mistakes, they find hope and healing and they find it in Christ.

In addition, we also provide Christ Centered Counseling, Parenting Classes, Finance Classes, Bible Study, Single Mom’s Support Group, Celebrate Recovery Support Group, Focus Groups and Housing.

Individuals have the option of Residential and Non- Residential support.

Your Help…

We need your help! We do not charge for our services nor do we accept any funding that would limit our ability to share Jesus Christ with those who seek our help.

We are asking you to become a monthly “Partner for Hope”.  No amount is too small or too large. Every dollar is greatly appreciated and 100% of your donation goes to maintain and expand the ministry.

The Journey Begins…

We have had the opportunity to share the love and compassion of Christ with over 100 people since January 2014. We are thankful to have the privilege to reach people for Christ. We do not take it lightly when someone trusts us with their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. We also realize that we can do nothing in our own strength but only through the direction, wisdom and strength of Christ can we be of any help to anyone.

We have a monumental task ahead of us. We can no longer accommodate the number of people attending the support groups at our current location. We need to raise approximately $100,000.00 to purchase land and build a new Empowerment Center. We are asking that you prayerfully consider how God would have you be a part of this mission and follow His direction.
